Got any links? I imagine, with baggy clothing, on a cold day, maybe you could survive a 90 mph crash with the ground if it were grass or soft bush.

Termiinal velocity is around 120 mph, but if you spread your arms and legs out on purpose with baggy clothing you can slow down.

The chances are remote in the extreme. Jumping off a 5 story building will usually do the trick, and you are nowhere near your terminal velocity, which, I think is something like 180 mph. It might not even be something that you would want to survive as it would make a nasty mess out of you.

A Russian once plummeted 1500 ft. with-out his parachute leaving it's bag, and he survived. He fell into a deep snow drift. There are many instances where the parachute malfunctions, and the jumper survives, however they are slowed by a partially deployed parachute. A man once fell from the top of a water tower. Got up. Went back to work. He fell into a sawdust pile.

This occurred to a chum of mine in December 2005. His chute opened, then for sure a wind shift led to it to interrupt down, yet he have been given a million/2 of it open back, went right into a spin, and took the final a hundred ft (10 memories) at freefall. He landed in a plowed field, which replaced into fortunate, simply by fact if he had landed interior the drop zone, it could have been like landing on cement (it extremely is packed floor and we hadn't had rain in a protracted time). From what i replaced into instructed, he went 3 ft into the floor. Broke one leg from the knee to the hip (has a rod in there now) fractured or broke a vertebra (he replaced into in a back brace for 6 months), have been given 20 stitches in his lip, had some techniques bleeding that they have been given under administration, and quite have been given DAMNED fortunate. final October they had to re-destroy his leg simply by fact it hadn't healed properly, yet a minimum of he's up and walks with a cane. the be attentive to-how I have been given from speaking with him, the way he landed (on his part) helped shop his existence, and the incontrovertible fact that the 1st responders did no longer roll him onto his back stored him from being paralyzed. i could think of that landing flat on your back could be undesirable, in view it is the place the %. is, and your backbone does no longer hit the floor flat - it may bend (and in all probability destroy) over the sting of the %.?

If you do, and are not in a coma, the odds are really high that you will wish you hadn't. You might note that no survivors have expressed the desire to do it again.

Maybe. Fall into some trees and grab branches as you fall and hope... Or just pray - ask God to spare your life.

It is possible because it has happened. I don't think you can plan it out, it's just an accident of extreme circumstances.
