Tobacco for sure, Maize (corn), others as well but weren't as major until the "cotton boom" but of course, that is not good to eat. but it sure was important, especially in the south when they start to fight over slavery. many people did not use the land to plant much crops other than tobacco (early on). Also, Sqaunto helped the "Viginians" plant things. he even helped celebrated what we call no "Thanksgiving".

tobacco, yes they loved to smoke tobacco, along with cotton, wheat, corn, sweet potatos, flax, oats, apples, cherries, berries, beans, pretty much the same stuff that is grown today except soybeans
