Since it's going to be rainy, and it sounds like you want to make it special for her...I would go buy finger paint, play doh, water colors, crayons&coloring books, everything you ned to make sundaes, and her favorite cartoons!!! All of which you could get for very little at the local Dollar Store,Dollar Tree,or whatever is similar in your area, here I could get it all for $20-$25! I hope thats your situation also, because with a 3 yr. old ,you don't want to spend alot of money on it! LOL! Plan the day as much as possible remembering that if you plan too much with young children you will defeat the day in the very early stages!!! Staying in with you ,in the comforts of her own home, with all the fun things that only the two of you are sharing will be so much more special...and the memory will be so much stronger for her to hold close! Going out and being busy sometimes clouds the day! You have me thinking about doing this same thing with my 10 yr. old!!!!!! LOL!!!!!! I hope you have so much fun ,no matter which idea you choose! Please let us know how the day went,ok!!!!!!! And remember...it's a special day...eat all the ice cream you want!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!
P.S....Don't bring out every craft at one time! It will be too overwhelming and she will get kinda frustrated wanting to do everything at once! But bring it out thru the day, one at a time,as you find yourself finished with the previous fun, and ready to move on to the next!!!

If it is going to rain all weekend, staying home would be safer than being out on the road. Have a girls night in! Paint each other's toe nails and try on clothes with different accessories...like a fashion show. Try different hair styles. Pop a big bowl of popcorn and snuggle under a quilt on the couch for a special double feature. Bake some brownies or M&M cookies together. Start making ornaments for your Christmas tree if you celebrate this holiday...if not you can still do some holiday crafts like making your greeting cards using a tracing of her hand cut from colorful paper. Make a wish list of what you would buy if you won the lotto. Hide little things around the house and go on a treasure hunt. Call someone you love and let her talk to them as long as she wants. Find some on line kiddie games and challenge her to a contest. Have her dictate a story to you, then go through old magazines to find pictures to help illustrate your story and "bind" into her very first published book. Make some homemade bread dough clay and help her make presents of a plaque of her hand. Play Candyland,no 3 year old can resist it. Play some tunes and dance til you drop...this is always a hit. I'm not trying to overwhelm you, just offering a large selection from which to choose an activity or two or to inspire you. I admire you for wanting to make the weekend special for your daughter and she will love whatever you decide to do because you are with her...that's all any 3 year old wants anyway is Mom's undivided attention.

Seriously? After being a mom for three years? I'm not trying to be disrespectful. Maybe you meant something else, like something unique to do.
Try to think like a 3 yr. old; get on her level. Now, what would YOU like to do. She'll enjoy anything you enjoy doing with her. Even the ole color book or finger painting.

Are there any bounce houses where you live? How about Chuck E. Cheese or a Barnes and Noble? Sometimes B&N have storytime on the weekend.
