With the American public. So thinking that Muslins have been in the Uk for very many years and many have integrated well and second and third generation Muslims see themselves as British and most abide by laws of the land. So why this surge of anti Muslim sentiment. Do you think that 9/11 and 7/7 has fueled hatred, or what is the problem.

When you think about it The USA should be more anti Muslim but this is not the case. So can it be explained why here in the UK there is so much prejudice.

I am not fighting the Muslin cause, but I would just like to try understand why there is the animosity here in the UK between both cultures?

My own personal observation - I was a (white, lapsed Christian) British native, I emmigrated to the USA in 1993 & became a US citizen in 2004.

I have aboslutely no axe to grind. I have all but stopped using the word "hate" at all". Bunt since coming to the USA, I am MORE racially (and religiously) alienated than I was in England. In England I worked in Leicester with Sikh's & Hindus, black & white men & women, gay & straight - it didn't matter. We were friends & would go to the movies sometimes - maybe go to a bar (I liked The Bank). The most divisive issue, was which soccer club a person supported (I supported Derby County, which didn't go down well in Leicester)

What seems the case here is that every different group has their own table at in the cafeteria & when they leave the office, they split into their own groups. When the OJ verdict came down, I heard gasps from one side of the room & cheers from the other. I work with some very intelligent people, but I have no idea what many of them do, outside of work & it's not productive to ask.

Sad to say we have a long way to go integrating in America.

It's all about the media, mostly US-controlled, and that poses the muslim "terrorist" groups as the international threat.

Which actually the government of the US every couple of years creates a new "ISM" to scare and occupy the world with, there was "communISM" now there's "terrorISM".

Thou i'm not denying the existence of terrorism, but they're using it to tell u two lies through the media:

1- that terrorism is the only and biggest problem in the world.
2- that islam=terrorism

And if u just look at the death tolls caused by terrorism and those by the so-called "war against terrorism" .. u'll realize that u're being fooled. And don't forget that "terrorism" is a new excuse for everything:

invading any country it pleases (Afghanistan, Iraq..)
Causing the destruction of Lebanon and the killing of 1200 (which 1000 civilians) in Lebanon ... For 2 israeli soldiers
A Full green light for the use of force in the Gaza Strip .. For ONE israeli soldier

And by the way these soldiers were captured in order to exchange lebanese and palestinian civilians detained in israeli prisons for years !

I think the problem is with some young impressionable Muslim men responding to radical Muslim preachers, who preach hatred.
Osama bin Laden and Al queda view their struggle as one of Islam versus Christianity.Their campaign is a holy jihad to rid Iraq of foreign occupiers. Some young Muslims have been brainwashed into doing their bit for the campaign(7/7 and other incidents abroad). This has produced a reaction of antagonism
in some here, perhaps already disgruntled with the large numbers of immigrants and asylum seekers in this country.
There is a paradox. Because we are a country of free speech,John Reid can be called an enemy of Islam, and the person who said it faces no consequences?!

Muslims have to choose between UK christian based laws and Islam, that is the problem.
The Race Relations Act is not islam compatible for a start, blasphemy laws have to be ignored so as not to antagonise Muslims.
This is serious incompatibility, not minor like Catholic/protestant/non conformist Christian sects inability to agree.
Christians would like to convert everyone to christianity. by peaceful means, by example by persuasion.
Muslims want everyone to be muslim or dead, at least that is the Mesage from the Kur An (Koran).

The problem is they do not integrate in UK
They wear strange clothes ,all live in the same area, want Muslim laws not Democratic Their women seem to be second to the men.
If they would try to live as the English do it would help .

US has short attention span. UK has too much time on their hands. Two different lifestyles. In the US people are in their own little reality and in the UK they are bored of their own little reality so they pay attention to what's going on.
