Find a job that is rewarding. Keep searching until you find it. Even if it takes forever. A friend of mine made over a hundred thousand dollars a year and was unhappy. He got a job a social worker and has never been happier. Even with the pay cut.

We have to work to get the money to do the things we want to do. However, we are usually so tired from working that we can't be bothered most of the time. This is why holidays are so precious but still we continue to go to places where we have to queue for hours, get in a bad mood, get ripped off for the price of a meal or cup of tea, put up with crappy service and sub standard holidays. Yes it's hard. My answer is to get out of it by long walks in the middle of nowhere or an a beach in winter. Take up a hobby, find a thing that really makes you happy and pursue it as and when you can.

Because there wouldn't even be that life to miss if you were homeless poor on the street. There are people in high places, smarter than the others apparently, less afraid of fear and risk, living the good life for the others. They see it as, "Someone has to do the dirty jobs, and it's not going to be me" They don't care what you do with your lives. You have to decide to make it better and to work at it until it is. Most don't have that kind of discipline and if they do, they're rich already or will be in the near future.

Some wonder why, but most of us know why. We don't want to be replaced. We want to be the "one" the company keeps. So we work weekends, cover shifts and give up holidays and do not complain and rarely if ever ask for a raise. There's an old saying, "What happens to the nail that sticks out of the wood? Either it gets pounded in, or pulled out and replaced."

Actually, good question. I'm trying to find a rewarding career, which would allow me to swap to part time in the future. Work life balance is soooo important.....shame few people subscribe to it.

We live in a society driven by money. We would not have to work as hard if we would live within our means.

greed. just plain want more is the case for some. others have not prepared themselves well and are now paying for it by working themselves to death. still others are working but not being paid enough to live without working more than one job. and many need to work more than one job because they have just over extended themselves by not planning properly, divorce, illness, etc.

If you want to live, you have to give. You give some of your life to live, I know it sounds a little strange, but that's the truth.
