My friend next door saw a pair of red eyes- about three feet off the ground. Plus, there WAS a hole where we buried my guinea pig. We live in Indiana, so don't say it was a bear or a tiger or something ridiculous.

Your guinea pig was apparently dug up by the following possible culprits:
Red wolf
Coyote
Raccoon
Opossum
Red fox
Gray fox
Stray dog
Neighbor's dog
Your dog

An animal's eyes will sometimes shine red when it's dark out and you shine a light at them. There are not Evil Ghost Guinea Pig Eating Demons digging up your dead animals, and your guinea pig did not become a zombie.
