I'd like to know how to solve this word problem and how the answer is reached:
A football team practices running back and forth on the field in a special way. First they run from one end of the 100 yard field to the other. Then they turn around and run half the previous distance. Then they turn around again and run half the previos distance and so on.
A. Suppose the athletes continue the running drill with smaller and smaller distances. What is the coordinate of the point that they approach?
B. What is the total distance that the athletes cover?
Thank you I appreciate your help all you math genuises! =D

The point that is approached is 33.33333 etc. It is asymtotic, since the point is never reached. The players will never run more than 200 yards, or double the length of the field. Be sure to tell your teacher that you had some help with this one! I'll leave it to you to figure out the formula.
