I have heard that Saudi's have very large investments in the US apparently upwards of 500 bill

I have also seen many claims of alternative power sources namely water powered engines using small amounts of electricity to break the bonds.

Perhaps one of the reason we have seen any of these alternatives in use today is not there lack of feasiblilty but there potential devastation to the ecomonies of the world.

For instance, my assumption is that if a company was to develop this technology in the US wouldnt it be real easy for the Saudis to just pull all the money from that country?

A mass-exodus of 500 billion in captial would be sure to cause a collaspe of the US ecomony, perhaps even cause others who are heavily leveraged in the US damage as well.

If perhaps the above statement is even remotely true, wouldnt that alone be enough of a deteriant to cause people to suppress this kind of advancement?

What I am asking is what are the chances this is really going on?

ok to the people who have responded.

Its Salt Water not clean water.

They are seperating the hydrogen from the water as you need it. So you dont need fill stations with hydrogen.

We should be drilling our own oil from ANWR and the offshore fields, then refining it in our NEW refineries.

There are certainly some economic reasons to suppress technology, especially if you are an oil company. Supply and demand.

However, hydrogen is really a "storage medium." You have to put in as much energy as you get out. That's great if you have energy to put in, but that has to come from somewhere.

And I think we could find the energy to put in. There is a lot more we can do. One of the problems is the alternative energy industry also wants to make money. They make it more complicated then it really is.

The x-prize foundation recently announced a prize for a company who will manufacture and market a 100mpg car. Right after that the oil prices start to come down. Hmmm . . . .

I got mad about this a few years ago and finally wrote a book trying to explain the basics to people. Big Fish Publishing just published it a few months ago. If you're interested it's called "Basics of Energy Efficient Living" at BigFishBooks.com (or amazon.com etc).

Hope this helps,
Lonnie

There isn't enough clean fresh water to satisy our fuel needs.

BUT, there are several promising alternatives out there. Solal, hydrogen, etc.
