Have you gained or lost weight recently? And how long ago did you start having periods? If you started recently, that's pretty normal. If you gain or lose weight rapidly it can cause dysmenorrhea, which means irregular flow or stopping flow (according to my doctor). usually once your body evens out you get back to normal. Some people never have regular periods. I know one girl who had 1 every 2 months for years. Going on the pill helped her.

Did you start or end on 8/28? Either way it shouldn't be that big of a deal, a lot of teenagers have irregular cycles. Even adults can have menstrual cycles anywhere from 21 to 28 days apart. It just depends on your body.

Provided you are not sexually active not to worry yet. I used to skip a period every summer and my cycle would shift to a different rhythm. If you don't get it by 9/28 consult your GYN. If you think your pregnant and are concerned about a miscarriage take an over the counter test from the drug store. If you don't want anyone to know go to Planned Parenthood for a test and checkup.

Could you be pregnant ? If not it sounds to me like the spotting is your monthly period. It doesn't have to be heavy or every 28 days, your cycle can vary between 20-40. I shouldn't worry a lot of things can effect our monthlies.

I'm 24 and my periods still vary about a week or so. Wait a few weeks, and if nothing happens then I'd talk to your family doc about it. Good luck sweetie.

Yeah, every few years or so I'll get one two weeks apart, or I'll miss a month for no reason. I wouldn't worry about it at this point.

best wishes
