I am agree with Troy and National's opinion. You can have a try. I have an advice for avoiding hot sap drips from pine tree fall on your outdoor furniture again. You can try to cover your outdoor furniture when you not use it. It will protect your outdoor furniture against dust, rain, wet weather, sand, snow, UV, hot sap drips from pine tree, etc. When you in busy working, vacation, rain and snow weather, and no time spend on outdoor furniture in your garden, you can cover your outdoor furniture by quality outdoor furniture covers.

Spray WD-40 over the area and allow to set a few minutes, this will soften the sap, and allow you wipe it off. The WD-40 may need to be applied several times until it removes all the sap.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
take a lot of salt, bigger crystals if possible, and mix it with liquid soap so that you have a sort of granulated, thick paste. Use it to scour it off. Smaller crystals if you don't want to scratch it.
However, it may scratch it. So, test it on a small, unnoticeable area first!!!

If it's not cloth, Rubbing Alcohol will disolve pitch. (Cloth would soak up the liquified pitch)
