I took prenatal vitamins for over a year before I became pregnant. They were prescribed. I was so used to them and when I switched doctors, I ran out of my prescription and decided to buy them over-the-counter. The OTC pills made me so sick and it didn't help my morning sickness AT ALL! So, I told my OB and she wrote a prescription for me for another brand. I feel so much better. I generally take them at night before I go to bed (just in case it makes me feel sick, I can sleep through it). It's advised that you should take them at least an hour before you eat or at least two hours after you eat. If you still feel nauseous, eat a light snack with it because the more you eat with it, your body won't absorb the vitamins as efficiently.

Well I'm not trying to conceive right now, but I do know that prenatal vitamins are famous for making you sick to your stomach...I took them all thru my pregnancy but I always took them at night right b4 bed, on a full stomach, and I never had any nausea from them. But I know lots of women who have. The doctor will either prescribe you something else or tell you to take maybe just certain OTC vitamins, like folic acid. My prenatal vitamins were OTC by the way; Target brand version of Stuart's Prenatal. Hope this helps in some way. Good luck! :-)

Personally, I didn't take prenatal vitamins until I was actually pregnant. The main thing you need from them before that is the folic acid, since you need to have a good supply of that before you become pregnant. Try buying plain folic acid and taking those for now. They might not make you feel as bad. If you're not pregnant yet, taking prenatal vit. gives you too much extra iron. You need that extra iron when you're pregnant to help with the extra blood supply to the fetus, but for a non-pregnant woman that is too much and that may be why you're feeling yucky.

There are a couple of exceptional forms of prenatal vitamins, and some like yours might have hostile aspect results. (even though i wonder if being sleepy is solely from being pregnant.) for those who don't love those you are on, ask for one other company. I don't feel it issues what time of day you take them. Simply ensure that they incorporate most nutrition and minerals that might be integrated on a multi-vitamin, folic acid, and omega-three fatty acids (for brain development.) make certain you might be consuming a good-balanced diet, and not trying to slash your carbs, protiens, or veggies because that's the best option to get your nutrients. Good success

Pregnant or not prenatals make most women sick.Try taking them with a light snack but not with milk. Milk can get in the way off your body absorbing the iron in them. Or take them at night. Try different suggestions the benefits outweigh the risks usually when it comes to vitamins.

Some of my prenatal vitamins made me a little sick, but I resolved that by eating a snack when I took them. My sister will soon be TTC, and her doctor said she could take a Flinstone and a separate folic acid pill. You might want to try that.

Some people I know take there prenatal vitamin at night before they go to bed so they can sleep though the nausea. I stop taking my prenatal vitamin and started taking Children vitamin(Flintstones) with a folic acid vitamin. and that was better. Talk with your physician about the prenatal vitamins you take he mite be able to change them or suggestion something else.

There are numerous distinctive styles of prenatal supplementations, and a few like yours could have unfavorable facet outcomes. (in spite of the fact that i ask your self whether being sleepy is in simple terms from being pregnant.) in case you do in comparison to those you're on, ask for a distinctive type. i do no longer think of it concerns what time of day you're taking them. in simple terms make constructive that they incorporate maximum supplementations and minerals which would be secure on a multi-nutrition, folic acid, and omega-3 fatty acids (for strategies progression.) make certain you're ingesting a properly-balanced weight loss plan, and not attempting to decrease back your carbs, protiens, or greens because is the final thank you to get your meals. stable luck

If the vitamins are making you sick, take them at night before you go to bed. I used to get energy from the prenatals, so after I had my dtr. i kept taking them. Try taking them at night that's what a couple of my friends had to do while they were taking them.
