Just look at the history of the middle east. When the west was doing their imperial expansions they would take over an area and try to civilize the population and exploit the local resources. This is known as the "White man's burden."

Not only that, Christians wanted the Jews to get back their homeland. So basically the west caused all the problems of the middle east but they wouldn't really give a crap about that if the Bible did not prophesy that the Jews would return. PLUS, there is a sea of oil sitting under parts of it.

The west wanted the Bible prophecies to come true and only needed puppet governments, no democracies please, to control the people while the white men sucked all of that sweet, sweet oil out of the ground.

The locals, not being Christian, and having some animosity towards them from a couple of hundred year debaucle called the Crusades are understandably not comfortable just giving away the oil to the west, or even just trying to impose their politics on them.

Bla bla bla ...one minute they are freedom fighters and the next they are insurgents and terrorists What can you say?....we are as'sholes! (but so are they!!)

How did you type that question? Oh right you still have fingers and a head. That must be because you are not DEAD. The people that we are messing with are the same ones that attacked us personally not only on 9/11 which may I remind you that out of the Thousands of people only 20 TWENTY where saved from that, but have been attacking us for years. Ever since the end of WW2. Oh yeah we tryed to help them once against the Russians and after that they turned on us and killed innocent Civilians. That would be people like your mother father and such. Not military personnel no these cowards go for unarmed civilians that think just like you. Danial Pearl the cut his head of while he screamed then gaged on his own blood. He will be avenged WHEN I get over there

I think you're right on the money, there. We should have left em standing at the altar way back in 1973, but technology and public knowledge just wasn't that far along, back then. The only people that had solar panels were the astronauts, and 3 hippies in Iowa, or something. Now, China mass-produces the things night and day, and ships em all over the world. China. Just gotta love em. LOL I'd 10 times rather give money to a green-tech company than to some guy with a bedsheet and a grudge against our country.

Why? cause we need middle east in a mess so that they cannot become strong and we can always take the advantage from that.
Be honesty, we have the technology to make cars run without traditional fuel long time ago, just because our government needs to protect the oil company's interest.

Yes, we fight over oil -- and in the middle east 'cause that's where most of it is. And of course we could replace the vast majority of our need for oil with alternative sources (solar, wind, hydrogen, biodeisel, etc.), but as the oil companies are some of the biggest and richest entities on the planet, and have hundreds of politicians from every country in their pocket from bribes and contributions, they use their power to keep the world dependent on their product so they can continue making billions. We may be fighting directly in the middle east over oil, but we're really there for money, plain and simple. Not for the spread of democracy, not for saving people from dictators, not for finding or fighting terrorists...but all simple greed and money-grubbing. Sad, isn't it.

Its no longer faith or the individuals its the few extremists and zealots that damage it for all and various.....i truly imagine how you could understand that's to bypass back to the start and look at their historic past and ideology, its exciting studying yet base line i imagine it comes all the way down to easily some nut situations making it undesirable for all and various and an analogous holds authentic international huge, in united states, in europe and all international places...the extremists in politics and faith get the most interest at the same time as the conventional human beings like ourselves ought to pay the fee for his or her idiocy.

How short is the memory... seems like they have been biting the heels of the western civilization for some time now... more than 20 years. When did you come out of your coma? The latest incident of importance was 9/11. Why not stay awake for a change?

Wow, good question. In thinking about the real reason, I guess it's because we unconditionally support Israel. If we pull our support, they will be obliterated by all of their enemies. It may be a simple as that, but I'm not sure. I think we've horked off enough people over there now that we can't back off now though. It's like if some guy fell face down in your wedding cake, then tried to excuse himself. This is the Kobayashi Maru, the no-win situation.

you need a history lesson: simply put: they want to cut you damn throat (google Daniel pearl ~ non-invasive passive reporter). They are not live and let live people, they want to cut your damn throat, get it yet. Let me rephrase it another way, THEY WANT TO CUT YOUR DAMN THROAT! and your pacifist attitude is for the reasonable, the logical, the rational, the terrorist are none.

keep hope alive! did i mention they want to cut your damn throat? and this war is not about oil! it's about keeping them from cutting your throat on your own soil
