I struggle with mornings, as the sun is rising later and later now we are officially in Autumn so I thought something like this would be good:

I'll be coming home from work in the dark in a month or so, so I was thinking of also getting an actual light box to use in the evenings. Problem is the alarm clock ones go for £60 or so, and light boxes are at least £150-200!!! Any ideas where's best to go (other than somewhere in the southern hemisphere haha)

Have you treid looking on www.kelkoo.co.uk for price comparisons? They will give you an overview of where you can buy the item, and who sells it the cheapest. Otherwise, shop around ebay for a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine who has SAD takes Vitamin D and fish oil tablets (OMEGA 3 fatty acids) daily, she says that helps her.

Have you seen a doctor about this. Do you just have SAD alone or with some other type of depressive disorder. Cause if you were Bi-polar this would not be good for you. If you what a light that cost less, get a natural sunlight lamp from a craft store. Crafters use them when the do counted cross-stitching and embroidery and they are really bright. There are two sizes, a table size and a floor size check into it .

well you can surely find the plans to build yourself one. Its pretty SADenning in the winters where I live too and some of my friends have them. Its pretty neat, they have them programmed to turn on in the morning a few minutes before their alarms go off so they get a few minutes before they wake up every day. If you know someone with a few tools you shouldn't have too hard a time putting one together, but then you run the risk of having one that looks real shabby and if you mess it up, you end up spending more than you would have on buying one ready made. Tanning beds are a good alternative.

probably find the best prices from the internet, it's where I go to get the medical supplies I need.
But it is easy to make your own box, there are instructions on how to do it online as well. Good luck.
