Just wondering if anyone knows if it's dangerous or not, also is it hazardous to your health?

its a flammable material and there have been explosions. it can cause black lung if you don't wear your respirator

Extremely. I'm sure things have changed a little for the better, but back in the day they used to use small children because they could fit up in the chimneys. Many of them fell and broke limbs, and many more succumbed to respiratory disease due to soot.

I can't answer for modern day chimney sweeping, though...
