We all feel for him and his family BUT for god's sake man, the UK is in an illegal war with half the middle east and the news dedicates 10 minutes to Richard hammond and two minutes to the unbelievably frightening turn of events in Afganistan and Iraq.
Get well Richard.
Get a sense of perspective everyone else.

Ah poor Richard Hammond he's such a funny bloke, he'll be o.k though because topgear will not be the same without him. my friends and i (all girls) love the show because we can learn about cars easily we especially liked the one about 3 weeks ago when he set fire to the caravan, genius! poor richard! Did he break the record that he wanted to break though?

Absoloutely. Among the trio of top gear, he is my favourite. His boyish charm, sort of fits into the whole drive for fun thing. And I could totally see him trying to break the world record.
I do hope that he recovers well. He is so young, and also has a very young child/children. It would be so sad if he lost his life, or is permanently injured.

I totally agree. He is such a talented & tastey young guy. Its a shame this has happened to him. However his head & spind would have taken an awful battering so its likely that should he come through the critical stage, he will need care for the rest of his life.
He has pulled many stunts & just like that croc guy, this happened during extra filming. I think you get one shot at life & some people try to take it to the extreme.
Good luck & best wishes to him & all of his family though.

Yes lets.
He was a nice chap. A bit short with teeth that were oddly white, but I liked him.
Get well soon Richard

Yes. Poor hamster, so brave. He has more balls than the other two put together. I hope he pulls through.
I feel sorry for May too, if it's true he was supposed to do it he must be kicking himself today.
