The blood test measures how much HCG is in your blood. As I understand it the only way there should be HCG in your blood is if you are pregnant

Congratulations!! An HPT may not detect the HCG hormone level because the level may be too low! It may be too early to detect, but the blood test can detect it as early as two weeks after conception!! So, you're pregnant!! If it will make you feel better, you can take another HPT in a week or so and use the urine from first thing in the am!!! You should go ahead and schedule an appt with your ob/gyn if you haven't already!!

I had a positive HPT yesterday, negative today, but my blood work was positive 3 hours after the negative result!!

If it's early in the pregnancy there might not be enough HCG hormone in the urine which causes a home test to be negative. A Blood test is more acurate.

Blood test is about as accurate as there is out there! Besides a positive test is far more likely to be accurate than a negative one. Congratulations!

Blood test are significantly more accurate than hpt's. If it said you're pregnant than congratulations mommy! If you have concerns contact your doctors office, they're available to answer your questions no matter how big or small. Your insurance company might have a nurse helpline too so check them out. But odds are in your favor of being pregnant.

Yes they are the best way to find out. Home p.t.'s can show negative if your urine is not containing enough of the hcg hormone. If the blood test says positive, then you definitely are. Congrats!

How AWESOME!!! Yes ma'am, you indeed have a bun in the oven! They say that Home pregnancy tests should be used like a screening test. But, a blood test, that's solid proof....hints it's in your blood. How cool. Congradulations!!!

I hope I can get some of your luck, me and my husband started trying a month and a 1/2 ago....

Blessings!
