hate it when you know if you did something like a painting or whatever and you know you did horble on it but everyone else is all, "oh it's SO good!" just to be nice?

Not any more. That's part of the programming society puts on people to think that they are less than they are. It also has a lot to do with self-image. Also art and crafts affect people differently and someone may genuinely like what you've done. Other than that you know when people are trying to be nice, accept it graciously and get rid of it after.

just chalk it all up to experience since alot of people are mean at heart and there is little or nothing you can do about it. let it roll off your back like water does on a duck!

it's your own fault.
you've trained your friends
to believe that you don't welcome
their honest opinions

either because you don't value what they have to say
or, because you're too immature
to deal with someone disagreeing w/you

whenever someone compliments
you on a project that you
aren't particularly proud of
be sincere
and ask them something specific
"but, don't you think that if i used a lighter color here, it'd be better?" (for example)
when you do that,
they'll like you more
for asking what they think
(as if you really care)

why are you finding
negativity
in something
so innocuous?
