To take some form of action in an ethical manner. This assumes you know what the word ethical means, but in case you don't, it is another word for moral, right, just, etc.

Well, ethics technically might vary a little, like in different professions. Like, it would be unethical for a doctor to divulge what a patient said, unless it was part of a criminal investigation (like for child abuse--I don't know exactly when it's OK for doctors to break patient confidentiality.) But for non-medical professionals, there would be different standards about confidentiality, like, you could maybe tell your spouse a secret, but not your kids because they might be too young to hear something, but if they ask, you have to tell them. That sort of thing.
Usually, when businesses have common problems, like with records or files, they have "business ethics", which are certain practices for their profession. So acting ethically would be acting within the bounds of what is considered proper behavior for a certain group you belong to. Ethics vary by group, though--like it would be unethical for a psychologist to give out medicine or pose as a doctor. So the ethical standards for psychologists outline that very clearly (because it happens fairly often.) Ethics for a group usually cover standard problems and are therefore put in a standard set of rules. Ethics in general would be acting morally, like a good upstanding citizen or religious person or whatever. But specialized ethics exist for special groups.

It means "according to ethics"; that is, according to moral standards set by a society. Example: It is ethically wrong to take credit from your boss at work for a task you didn't do (the person who did it should get credit).
