Today's technology, while reducing overall usage, would not lessen WORLDWIDE demand significantly enough to drop prices below where they are today.

The problem is that, as U.S. consumption grows gradually, usage in developing countries (e.g. India, Cina) is growing exponentially.

first I would have to get enough money to afford a hybrid... those things aren't cheap. And I agree they probably wouldn't go down, because even with a hybrid you still have to get gas eventually.

It wouldn't go down because the oil companies would cut production and lay off employees so that they could keep profit margins.

gas prices will only go up because there's a limited amount
