I took my '04 Silverado to the local muffler shop and told him to put a glass-pac muffler on it and dual tailpipes. I told him I wanted a deep rumble without being overly loud. He fixed me right up with a generic in house muffler he carried. It sounds EXACTLY the way I wanted it too without the price of buying a name brand muffler like Magnaflow or Dynamax etc. Ask around the car crowd in your area and I bet most of them take their show cars to the same shop. In my area damn near every car guy takes their cars to the same shop cause the shop does great work on custom exhausts.

remove the muffler, and just run pipe out the back. leave the emissions alone, and just run with out a muffler. i had a 2000 firebird with the 5.7L, it sounded great without the mufflers.
