Oh yes, easily,
The bible is not based on logic, it is based on blind faith and indoctrination of people while they are too young to make up their own mind. You simply suspend any logical scientific fact which contradicts it, and supplant whatever explanation your local preacher cares to come up with, while he hands you the collection plate.
Millions of people do it every day, so it's a perfectly feasible alternative. I'm not saying it is wrong or right for them, simply stating a fact.

As a christian and one who believes in evolution, I find no problem with believing in both. Science shows us HOW God does things. The bible teaches us WHY.
Certainly, there are others who refuse to accept scientific theories ONLY when those theories disagree with their interpretation of the bible. Notice that I didn't say "when those theories disagree with the bible." It is their interpretation in which the problem lies.
These are the people who literally interpret the bible. The problem with literally interpreting the bible is that one must then try to wrap their head around psuedo-scientific arguments and fallacies in order to reach an absurd conclusion.
While they argue that science proves that the earth is 6,000 years young, all life on earth was created in six days without common ancestry, that a human could survive in the belly of a fish for three days (The bible says Jonah was swallowed by a FISH, not a whale.), that Noah fit 500 million different animals on the ark and fed them for a year during a global flood that happened some 2,000 years after the earth was created, etc, ad nauseum, ...the morals of these stories get lost, and the ridiculousness of how creationists like to stretch their arguments, twist their facts, and mock science is all that anybody, who isn't among the choir being preached to, sees.
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. Creationists discredit the bible to a far greater degree than any scientist could.

Whether we want to admit it or not we all believe in science regardless of our sprituality or lack thereof. Science is simply the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena; in otherwords it is an activity we engage in explore and gain understanding of the inexplicable things in our world.
The Bible is not a science book, it is a religious book does not contradict scientific facts. Support for the existence of the water cycle, disease carried by the dead and excrement, the earth being round and the fact that fat cells do not contain nerve endings can all be found in the Bible. The purpose of the Bible, however, is not to espouse scientific theory, but to lead mankind to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Why not? Who says every part of the bible has to be taken literally? I know lots of denominations who take most of the creation story to be allegory, and others that point out that the 'days' in the bible might be reckoned according to a variety of different schemes that are not necessarily 24 hours long. After all, how else can there be days before the existance of the sun and planets?
If there were absolute indisputable proof that everything in the bible was false, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion. Likewise if there were absolute indiputable proof of everything's veracity. Since there isn't either, it's up to you to decide for yourself! Enjoy! ( :

Sure you can. Science often backs the Bible up. My Grandfather was a scientist and a christian.
No where in the Bible does it say we were the good Lords first try. Look at what happened to the dinosaurs.

The Bible was written to be understood by the people with the average culture of 2000 years ago. It shouldn't be taken literally.
That doesn't mean the Bible is false. If it was written today, the language would be totally different.

Yes you can, you just can't believe in it as a literal document.
The fundamentalist interpretations (eg Earth was created in 6 days, Eve literally created from Adam's rib) which don't line up with the evidence are alarming.
The current Jihad against science has never been equalled.

let me tell u that science is proven fact , the bible is not. i believe in GOD and Jesus, but i bet u that most of the stories in the bible are exaggerations or half truths. they are not meant to hurt but to inspire. i struggled with this matter for a bit also but you also must relies that the people back then were stupid. i hate to say it this way but hey. the did think of science, they never saw a dino. bone they thought every little thing out of the usual was evil or work of Satan. i say try and mix them up, they go hand in hand. good luck. p.s. scientist also can make mistakes.

This Star Child skull was found in 1999. Does anyone ever really pay attention to what science has discovered and when? Not really, because if they did, people would have a much reater grasp on what is going on around them.

Yes science is of man and the Bible is of God through man. Just as in law. How can one question God and enjoy this earth or what has not been destroyed through greed and self service. Just a thought
