I'm not a fan of Ricki Gervais but I've just tried to give this tripe the benefit of the doubt. Apart form the Bowie song it was just so crap.
I don't see why it's funny at all. I do get the human side of the charactrers and understand that it's has that painful kind of funny/sad element to it but where's the bloody comedy?
Would anbody like to give me some random quotes or scenes from any of the shows that are actually funny rather than clever?

I thought I might get abuse for this question but there's only one good comment yet which suprizes me actually. It seems I'm not alone in finding it ruuuuuubbbish then.

It is better if you are in the film business. "Extras" are known as "Props that eat and won't shut up". They are the necessary bane to all production. Seeing them do all the horrible things that extras do on set is what is funny.

sorry i don't have any favourite quotes or scenes from the show which i found funny. extras is crap- i watched 2 episodes and didn't get any of the humour, whatsoever. if this is regarded as comedy then sadly we've been misled because there were no jokes and even if it was trying to be hilarious, it has failed. its so overrated-yet so unfunny its just awful to watch. ricky gervais-although nice guy he may be- is not as funny anymore. i like some of his stand-up stuff, but in regards to extras and the office they are alongside countless others two of the most overhyped, boring, humourless comedy shows i have watched ever.

I don't think Ricky Gervais is the slightest bit funny. The Office was just rubbish and Extras, which is supposed to be different is just as crap. And the over-hyped episode of The Simpsons he was in was definitely nothing special.

Gervais has never been funny and i don't understand why people now think he is, he was the least funny thing about the 11 o'clock show - and thats no mean feat when Iain Lee presented it!

I did like the office but just do not see the point of Extras.
