In the 1960's the World Health Organization (WHO) developed an oral solution containing sugar, which improved the absorption of salt/water preparations, saving the lives of many dehydrated persons in remote areas. This solution can be prepared at home by mixing the following:

Table Salt - 3/4 teaspoon
Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
Sugar -4 tablespoons
Orange juice - I cup
Water - I quart/liter

It depends on how severe the dehydration is. If it is bad you should drink gatoraide or a salt/sugar/water mixture to rehydrate. If it is not bad you should just drink water or 100% fruit juice because gatoraide has a lot of refined sugar and isn't really good for you.

yes, because your body is made of approximately 70% of water, you should always want to keep it at that percentage in you so that your body doesn't get tired and dehydrated so yes water is the best remedy.
