in the UK you can change your name by usage, this just means that you can use any name you want, aslong as you use only that name and that you aren't using it for fraudulent purposes. You have to write to all officals, not sure which will be relevant - depends on your daughters age. You will need to notify bank, dvla, passport office and those sort of places. Some people may contest this, as its not common knowledge that you can change your name by usage. I've changed mine this way and have had no problems. If you are worried, speak to a solicitor who will be able to draw up some papers for you so you can change her name.

If you have a paternity test for your daught done in the same hospital where her father went and has blood records they should be bale to match her blood to his. Contact your social security dept (the same place you would go to change your name if you were recently married) and they can tell you the steps to take in order to get her name changed. Or you can have a paternity test done for the bf and prove that he is not the father and have his name removed from her b.certificate.

just go to clerk of circuit court online in your county and look for the forms to have name changed and then file the papers with the fee. Make sure to file the papers for the Judge to sign at the same time... trust me soo much easier.. then set up court date and judge either signs the papers or gives the reason why they won't. Once its got Judge's signature make sure it states that the order is sent to office of secretary of birth and death records office.... I forget what they called but its the Department of Vital statistics.... good luck

You have to go to the court house and fill out paperwork. They will walk you thru it. Why dont you get her last name the same as yours? My sons last name has been changed 3x now.. when he was born..he had his dads last name..and then he was out of the picture..cause i choose that.(he was worthless) and I gave my son my last name...then when he was 11 he was adopted by my husband and now has his last name. You can do it... you just have to go thru the steps...
