What ever happened to the good ole days when the CIA would give political prisoners a bunch of LSD. And nobody talked about it.

Saying torture is wrong, is like saying nuclear weapons are wrong. They are just tools. Tools are not good or evil, the people that use them are.
We do not use nuclear weapons every time, all the time. Only on special circumstances. Torture is the same way. We should not torture everyone. But we must have it as an available tool for special circumstances.
Do not bring a knife to a gun fight. Trying to be the "better man" will just get you killed. If your enemy brings a gun, you bring a bigger and better gun. It's not about playing nice, it's about SURVIVAL.

i'm completely and thoroughly outraged that this even is up for debate! you're SO impressive! If somebody is being tortured they're going to say something to make the torture provide up! And, what does it say approximately our society? a gaggle of barbarians. How can we walk around calling ourselves civilized and do this? How can we criticize different international locations for habit inclusive of this and then do it ourselves? How is we are allowed to act in such an inhumane way and then nevertheless assume no person else to do it and no person to do it to us! Do unto others, bible thumpers! you are able to not say a habit is incorrect and then do it your self, or help others doing it! it extremely is incorrect, it extremely is inhumane, it extremely is hypocritical, and to those of you that think of you purely help our troops by no longer thinking Shrub-it instruments up our troops for a similar sort of scientific care. And wager what-it extremely is idiotic! I purely don't be attentive to how we are able to hold our heads up and proudly call ourselves individuals, call ourselves a compassionate and civilized u . s ., and nevertheless condone and allow this way of component to happen.

The debate is (or should be) what consitutes "torture". The prisoners at Guantanemo are treated better than they would be in any other country.
I've got no problem with using proven psychological techniques for eliciting information from these people. I don't think anyone (in power) is arguing for physical torture.

Easy old sock. It's no debate, as far as GW is concerned. He wants the vagueness taken out of the rules. He just wants clarification of what is allowed . You see, some things that are not allowed, our CIA have been using, because it was allowed!!(they thought) Like loud music by the "Red Hot Chili Peppers" in a cold room and belly slaps and a few other (CRUEL & INHUMAN THINGS?????)

Exactly.. This is what worries me so much. I cannot believe that Americans, Americans I tell you, would be defending the use of illegal tactics on the world stage. This is the lowest common denominator and the Repubes have brought us to this. How unacceptable is that? I bet you pinch yourself in horror. I sure do.
How can we now turn to those wackos in Iraq and tell them they shouldn't do it?
