YES, you should feel guilty. It's called ASSAULT/BATTERY. And NO, it doesn't count as an excuse.

I don't care about getting the points or what you think about my answer so I'm going to say what I think. You were wrong--100% wrong. It is never OK to hit anyone, for any reason. If he had done that to you, you probably would have gone screaming to the police and had him charged with domestic violence. When guys get beat up by their female partners they suck it up instead.
You reacted in a purely visceral way. It's interesting that you said "another *****" (I'll assume I know what the bleepled out word was). Do you mean he's done this before, or are you referrign to yourself as one of them? Are you feeling guilty because you've done this to him without getting caught and you don't like how it feels?
Before you absolve yourself, ask yourself how hard did you hit him in order to leave a mark? It certainly must have been quite a swing.
If you're asking this on this particular category you must want answers favorable to you. Otherwise you'd go to Psychology or Mental Health or Relationships where the answers would be less forgiving than what you've had so far.
Do what you want, just don't expect people to stick around for long with that kind of immature tantrum.

Only if you've got a nitwitted jury or a softhearted one. It's still assault, and you MAY want to consider checking into a good lawyer in case he wants to press charges.
The BF or the "other person" might be one heck of a tempting target, but they're still not valid ones. However, you ARE free to have some incredibly nasty fantasies....which can be rather satisfying, and much safer than fistfights.

If you were in a relationship with him and he was with another woman, he deserved to be slapped!!!! Don't feel guilty, and get rid of him, there are plenty of guys out there who won't cheat on you.

No excuse for hitting another person except in self defense. Now, when you stay with him after his cheating, be sure to slap your own face.

It depends. Did he deserve it or do you feel that you could have avoided it. I wouldn't recommend you going around hitting anyone unless you want to get slapped back. Women don't like men hitting them therefore women should never hit men. Violence is never the answer. Now that I have said the politically correct thing. I say hell yeah if he deserves it lay it on him.

A) no offense but this is about music, but if he was cheating on you, that kind of counts as an excuse.

He shouldn't have cheated, but you shouldn't have hit him either. Two wrongs don't make a right. You two are toxic for each other. Break up and move on.
