This door is outside on the side of my garage. The roll up doors have cemented bottoms so I do not see the difference. They are both exposed to the weather.

should be fine.
Make sure you have a weather strip on the bottom of your door to prevent unwanted moisture.

Use treated lumber cut to fit. It'll last 50 years. Paint it next year. By the way, it's a THRESHOLD.

Yoyu might want to go with arched rubber type sealed to floor to keep rain out.
