I'd have to say either the Beatles' "Abbey Road", "Sgt. Pepper's" or "Meet the Beatles"
All 3 have been copied in media outside of music *countless* times since the 60s. We still see them today...

The one that still sticks in my mind is "Diamond Dogs" by David Bowie.
He's on the front and back cover and the lower half of his body is a dog, lying down. Awsome album!
