I've had seven hamsters. One mummy and six kids. There was one hamster the other hamsters picked on. I had to get him his own cage. Later they started to pick on each other so I had to give all of them a separate cage. I do think your hamster was killed by the others. Maybe even by his mum. My condolences.

Hamsters are solitary animals and do best kept alone. If you think it was fighting you must mean it was being kept with another hamster. So yes, its a good chance the other hamster killed it.

If your hamster is a Syrian Hamster (ie: Teddy Bear or Long Haired---basically anything Non-Dwarf), then it was probably killed during a fight. Syrians are solitary hamsters and will/do fight to the death if they are housed together.

Who would it be fighting? Do you have any other hamsters in that cage? Please give more information because I have almost no clue what you mean by fighting.

The mother will sense if anything was wrong with the baby. If she sensed anything at all, she was the one that killed it.
