I know tobaccos are very addictive substance so when I see someone who is old and still smoking I can understand cuz back then 50s -70s cigarettes weren't consider to be so dangerous but today I just find it ridiculous when I see people smoke especially now that it's confirmed that it kills you and linked to all types of cancers, now even HIV! (link below) But the stupidest part about smokers is that they go out of their way to pay for it!

I think smokers are incredibly stupid! It's not like they didn't know it was harmful or addictive when they were first starting and experimenting with it! I think smokers need to take personal responsibility for their smoking, it's there own fault they got addicted and/or sick from it, they need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming the tobacco companies! Nobody forced them to start smoking! I hate it when people blame the tobacco companies and feel sorry for smokers, they (the smokers) deserve everything they have coming to them! There are plenty of methods of quitting available, sure it might be hard, but that's no excuse to not do it. I'm in college right now, and it's hard sometimes, and sometimes I fail in certain classes, so should I just not do it, drop out, and continue to be an uneducated bum! NO! People who smoke need to grow up and be responsible for there own idiotic actions!

Why do people do drugs? Why do people drink? and then drive? Why do people have unprotected sex with someone they just met? Why do people start to smoke in this day and age, being fully aware of what smoking can do to a person. Then again you can meet someone who smoked all their life and have no health problems. But, to ask if they are stupid or immature, I think I just found out who is.

I dont think smokers are stupid nor immature thy are addicted to nicotine you know just like some people are addicted to drinking the only thing about smoking than any other type of abuse is that you kill yourself slowly not like others who drive under the influence and take innocent lives

Nicotine is 10,000 times more addicting than heroin. As for the need to be sucking on something all the time, they just aren't weaned yet.

i don't think they are any of the above. because it is their choice to smoke and if they wish to do that, its fine by me. I don't think it is the smartest thing to do, but i wouldn't haul off and call them stupid because they smoke. I know many smokers that are VERY VERY smart but back in the day like you said, they got hooked on it and now can't stop and its not their fault.
its the cigarette companies faults
