Give 'em wrong answers, that's the only way they'll learn.

Because as long as there are questions that are worthy of an answer, it doesn't matter where the question comes from. This place exists to get question askers and question answerers together. And isn't it beautiful? :-)
If it really bugs you that homework is being answered by helpful humans on YA, lobby the powers that be to delete the category
Home > Education & Reference > Homework Help
Here's something that bugs me a little: people ask the same question over and over again, especially in religion. Here's a non-religion question that gets asked a LOT on YA:
"why do people presume Humpty Dumpty was an egg? the rhyme doesn't mention an egg."

different people respond for different reasons
I respond because I know many people are working on their homework with no help and no way to get past a block
I have been tutoring high school math and science for many years and I know how frustrating it is to be trying to do homework and be unable to get past on little thing or to be stuck because of something simple that keeps being overlooked
I often answer questions without providing the whole answer, but I often provide the answer as well as some insights on how to do other problems of the same kind
Very few people with a page full of homework are going to try to get everyone answered completely for them on yahoo, that might be harder than doing it
most people need help on one or two they don't understand and then they get the hang of it or otherwise are good
I think homework help is one of the best applications of yahoo answers

Hi. I personally always try to explain HOW to solve the problem. They either take the time to understand or go to the next answer with the answer figured out.
