They speak out against our leaders and we should take that as a shot on all Americans. These people get away with coming on OUR land to speak freely. What in the world is going on? If we were to go to another country and speak out against a country and its leader, it would not be tolerated. Wether you like Bush or not, he is our President and how can you not be offended with these tyrants can come over here and do what they do? Its sickening. Chavez has spoke in the past of hating the United States and he is our enemy. The Iran leaders are our enemies. Our enemies do not belong in our country speaking out against us and our leaders. Everyone should ban Citgo gas stations because they are owned by Venezuela.

They are not citizens of this country so they should not get that right.
Are you saying Osama Bin Laden or if Hitler were alive they could come here and just speak thier minds freely?

Ok, I didnt take account of the U.N. thing and that technically being 'international' territory. But I do know Chavez was in some church or something today getting greeted with applause and still speaking out against our leader. This is the same guy, who in the past has said "the United States should be taken out, and i pray and hope that day will come".

HAN DANG - what are you talking about? Bush does not go into another country and get greeted with applause while he bashes thier leaders. He would never be allowed to in the first place and would probably be killed on the spot

It's due to Diplomatic Immunity protected by the UN. Has nothing to with free speech, ignore those people. We agreed to allow the UN Headquarters here under terms such as this. There is no other country the world trusts to follow through with it, yet they attack us anyway.

It's time to kick them out.

1) Free Speech
2) Chavez's more irresponsible comments were made at the UN. The UN is officially not part of the United States (seriously, I'm not B.S.'ing you, the UN is considered an independent zone). Long ago, the US made agreements with the UN to allow visiting diplomats, be they allies or enemies to transit the US to get to and from the UN.
3) Banning Citgo would only deprive me of cheap gas (at least in my town).

Listen, I agree, Chavez's comments were offensive. But honestly, let's not get riled up about it. Sticks and stones...

In France, below the management of Bush/Cheney it is exactly how the U. S. behaved and Obama replaced into saying a coverage replace. In Prague he replaced into asserting his coverage, no longer conversing against usa. each President because Nixon has tried to cut back nuclear weapons. In London, the international financial device has replaced because of the fact the mid twentieth century. in case you do no longer know the turning out to be financial power it is China and India you're no longer accepting fact. Obama disagrees with Chavez yet shouting you lie alla Joe Wilson isn't the way international international kinfolk works. Obama isn't the 1st President to declare that the U. S. isn't a christian united states of america. in fact John Adams and the entire US Senate mentioned so in 1797 in the Treaty of Tripoli. Negotiated during the tip of Washington's 2d term it is obvious the founding fathers needed a rustic impartial on faith and not a christian united states of america. the 1st 2 Presidents, the then sitting Sec of State Thomas Jefferson (the destiny third President) and a Senate created from many admired progressive Patriots all confirmed help for the treaty. The treaty needless to say states that the U. S. isn't a christian united states of america and is not any longer in step with christian principals. Conservatives choose to apply revisionist history approximately us being a Christan united states of america, however the info do no longer help that end. by using ways, he's authorized to proceed because of the fact he's the constitutionally and democratically elected President of the US, and he will proceed till the tip of his term(s).

How it happens is that two bit dictators like Chavez can come to the UN and say whatever he wants. Interesting that he takes advantage of freedom of speech here but does not allow it at home. Funnier yet is that leftists here pay attention to him, quote him and act like he is a regular head of state because he bashes the U.S. President, but in Venezuela lefts who should be supported by our leftists are not supported because our freaks are just happy to have someone like Chavez say these things. It is a bad trip in his country and people come up missing everyday and live in fear.

The United Nations are technically United States territory. Anyone can come there to speak and have it treated as if they were visiting an independant nation. Their passage to and from is protected.

You've forgotten about the freedom of speech, people who live right here, -probably in your city- speaking out against this country, our president. It is only envy which causes people to speak in hateful tones. Let them have their speeches, we still have a better country.

Because that is what mature, rational, freedom loving, tolerant people do.

BTW; I do agree with baning Citgo products and of coarse Osama and Hitler should be able to speak at the UN, that's what its here for.

It is the downside of the United Nations being on US territory. Not to mention the downside of the USA funding 95% of the UN's operating costs.

Freedom of speech and every clown has his day.
