Ok..i'm for televising it. But there have to be conditions. It can't be on all stations. Otherwise kids (young kids) would see it and that wouldn't be cool. And not payperview..that would defeat the point of mass media. So 1. Only on like a government sponsored channel that was free. 2. Parental or other advisory like 30 minutes before the execution. Or broadcast only after like 9 pm (though i don't think that is a good time for everybody..so that wouldn't necessarily work). Other conditions would arise after like the first one was aired...or right before when they could tape or at least see what might go on.

I think it might deter some criminals..yet there are those sickos that nothing can deter.. So yes with some regulation televised executions would probably be a good idea. Kind of like hardcore Public service announcements.

Funny thing, I've thought this for years. Though I am not in favor of the DP, I figure if it has to be, then really turn it into deterrent. No pela bargaining, no appeal just death, televised death. Like the Presidents speeches it should per-empt all programming on every staion. Did you ever see someone die ? It ain't pretty.

In lieu of that, I would give a no bargain/no appeal life sentence. But e real life sentence like they did to the war criminals in Spandau after WWII. They never see TV, hear radio, or even read a publication. They have no human contact and even the guards that take care of you wear black hoods so you never see their faces. A total extraction from any semblance of human contact for the rest of your life. Okay, someone will sooner or later be convivcted and sentenced wrongly but that happens to be part of the deterrent. If the wrong man gets no break that sort of screams "we ain't kidding about this ", doesn't it?

PS-my spell check is disabled, so sorry for any errors.
