Oh I'm sure since they sustained major damage when the planes hit.

Probably, because their age later on in their lives or as Al Gores' book, "An Inconvenient Truth" has shown that the site for the world trade center is going into the sea and not to be seen from again, except for deep sea divers. So, the WTC would be down in the bottom of the ocean if 9/11 did not happen at all.
