A safe, non-polluting, quiet, portable and free (or very low cost) way to generate power. A clean and unlimited source of power would be the biggest boon to mankind since electrification began.
Such an invention would free us of our fossil fuel dependency, end a great deal of international strife and stop global warming, if it indeed is actually happening.

Well necessity is the mother of invention. BUT: I think there is enough stuff out there! What about taking care of the beautifull planet G-d has lended us?
Why are you so greedy about producing more stuff and accelerate global warming (trough transportation and manufacturing, mainly...)
What good will a strong economy give us if we ruin the ecosystem?
And have no place to enjoy that "wonderfull-prosperous-world"?!?..

I would invent a device like a television with some sort of device to input words so people around the world could communicate with each other and ask stupid questions and give stupid answers all day long.....DOH'
