from what i have seen about wimax,it works by sending a umbrella signal over a town or city,and anyone within the range of the wimax will be able to get wi-fi enabled broadband if they have the equipment
south korea were the first country to use this technology,and to be honest they lead the world in telecommunications,they allready have 32mbit broadband and 64m/bit in some areas,were as we are struggling to reach a 8m/bit connection
wimax is avalible in certain areas in the uk,i belive there is a trial in manchester
