Besides being the author of the Declaration of Independence and President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson was also an architect and designer. He designed and built the Monticello, his home as well as the University of Virginia.

If you need to draw something, you may be able to sketch the Monticello.

He was also a very creative inventor. I have included some links.

The obvious place is his home Monticello ,which is on the back of the nickel
He was also responsible for the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expedition that went out to explore it
Something with bearded guys in canoes, Indians and mountains might be appropriate
A map of the Louisina Purchase is also a possibility

How about a black slave woman cradling a mulatto baby?

Seriously, Jefferson had multiple children with a slave named Sally Hemings. The whole tale illustrates the hypocrisy of a nation that called itself free while allowing human beings, even the offspring of a president, to be held as property.

Look, there's an awful lot to admire in Jefferson, but most of that stuff is pretty well-known. The unhappy truths, like slavery, are the ones most easily forgotten, but they're the messes we're still trying to clean up today.

Draw a map of the Louisiana Purchase and show how that land is now 17 states. Jefferson purchased it in 1803.

Chow!!

Draw a torn up copy of the Bible. He is known to have removed any passages from the Bible pertaining to Jesus' divinity or miracles and just kept the rest because there is a good moral basis to the story. He just didn't agree with the mythology in it.
