Hi all I posted this morning that I could not move my laptop without it shutting down and I could not read the screen . I took it apart (35 screws !) and hoovered inside , now i can move it ok but the screen has loads of little squares all over it , making it hard to read . I've increased resolution so I can see what I'm writing but can't get the screen normal again ? any suggestions ?

Well, you could have sent it back and asked for an exchange or for it to be repaired, but you've voided the warrenty so now you can't do anything like that... I think you should just buy a new one...

Sounds like your LCD cable got halfway disconected. If you remove the little black screw covers and remove the LCD bezel "about 2-5 screws" you will be able to pop it off and get behind the LCD. There will be a connection behind the LCD that is about 1.5 inches long. Press and hold it in and secure with tape. There will allready be yellow tape there, remove it and put new tape. This should solve your issue.

At most your looking at 20 mins, and about 9 screws tops. Cause the lcd might be screwed in after you take the bezel off.

When removing the little black screw covers, use a sharp tiny metal point to get under them. This way you wont mess them up. Ask me any questions you may have. I do this fix everyday.

A cheaper option than getting it replaced could be to get a standard monitor if you have a vga (blue monitor input) on the back of your laptop. It would take up a bit of space, but would enable you to access all your files and documents on your computer.

If you are in UK and still have your warranty, send it to the customer service which are actually under Torch limited. Wonderful service!! I have done it myself and got my LCD screen replaced FREE OF COST! they are really efficient..compared to Dell.

Sorry bro they are called dead pixels , I believe they will just permanently be there until your screen malfunction completely..

LCD screens can be replaced but can't be repaired...
