It may be Braxton-Hicks - false contractions that prepare your body for the real thing. These tend to go away if you change positions or walk. So if the pains continue when you move around, I would call your doctor or go to the hospital. You wouldn't want to have this bundle of joy early!

Braxton-Hicks. Yes they are contractions, but only practice contractions. They are simply your body getting ready for the labor process. The fact that they are really strong though can suggest dilation and effacement. Has your mucus plug came out yet? If so, then it shouldn't be too long until you go into real labor. I mean, it could be anywhere from a day or two to a few weeks. Congratulations!!!!

It could be ligament pain. It could be contractions. Different people describe them differently. My doctor has told me to call no matter what time of day or night if I'm concerned about something. Better safe than sorry.

Don't know, but I would call the doctor, and have it checked out. Sharp pains could be a symptom of a problem. Not kidding, talk to the doc.

i would suggest going to the hospital. Because contractions is kinda like muscles cramping. NOT sharp pains.

Are they regular?
Can you feel that they have a pattern, or is there a specific time between them?
It's probably Braxton Hicks.
