No. And here's why...
everytime you set a goal for yourself or imagine yourself doing a particular thing by a particualr age, you realize that inreality it will look a bit different than you first imagined.
As a little child, you might have thought that having $100. would make you the richest person in the world. Now you know that is not true, so you change your vision as you evolve as a person.
You may have thought that you would marry a super model and that somehow, a 5'11', 115 lb. blonde from Denmark would bring you every lasting happiness. You now know that having that sort of look may also mean that she has the personality of a doorknob and the intellect of a cheese sandwich. At 15, it didn;t occur to you that you might need a hot chick who could speak in complete sentences, or grocery shop or (heaven forbid) have one original thought.
Your vision of yourself and what you intended to be changes very single day as it should. You can get the general category right ( doctor, chef, super model) but the things that really give that state of "be"ing a color and a style are always in flux.
What's stopping anyone from being something they can imagine?
Fear. It's the only thing that ever really stops anything.

Yes, i will be what i intend to be (a sociologist [who someday get's paid] specializing in the unraveling of the binary gender system)
Well, I do a lot of work currently teaching sociological principas and theories etc. But, i don't get paid yet. i am 22 years old and attending a community college working on my general studies. I have taken 2 sociology classes and 3 psychology classes and my general ed degree won't let me take anymore until i go to a 4 year uni. I want to go to Berkley for their genderstudies/rhetoric and comp program. i have a 3.94GPA and 80 credits under my belt. I believe they would accept my application.
What is holding me back? Illness which makes working very difficult and sometimes impossible. I have no monetary contribution from anyone in my family, I am living on my friend's couch. I don't have the ability to move to Cali and get a job in order to rent a place to live and buy food for myself while taking classes. I don't even drive a car.
However, these things havent stopped me from being a non-paid educator. I have several projects available online if anyone is curious to see them.
