depends on your mind. to reflect or ove r analize pain and misery will have a detrimental effect. can cause depression etc. but to use the experience of both and put your experience to positive use can be good for the mind. give it some peace

Pain and misery bring on depression and anxiety so yes I think it's a very bad thing for the mind.Of course even through pain and misery comes a process of learning something new.
