He was driving a car at top speeds, As far as i know he is not a qualified race drive, Yes it was an accident but it was very foolish,
I hope he recovers though

I feel so sorry for him! Apparently he was just about to make the world land speed record at the time and was driving the car that had broken the landspeed record previously. He is suffering from brain injuries. I really hope that he recovers because he was my favourite presenter on top gear.
