Ie. All the heat around you and in you suddenly transferred to one part of your body?

I also heard that theoretically you could walk through walls and have all the air the room placed into one corner(vaccuming the rest of the room).

have you heard of any other statistically possible scenerios that could happen but never do?

According to quantum mechanics, yes, any of those could happen at any time. And as for other scenarios...well, ANYTHING that follows the possible states of physical matter could theoretically happen.

However, the chances are so small of something on that scale happening because of quantum mechanics that it would not explain even one case of SHC. You want to know the chances? Well, imagine winning the lottery. Then imagine buying a new ticket with every dollar you won and THEN winning the lottery AGAIN with ALL those tickets. Then get the number of cents you would then have, and think about the chances of the Earth being hit by a barrage of that many asteroids at the rate of one every second. Then imagine the chances that, if each of those asteroids hit a container ship full of dice, that every single dice from every single asteroid hit would roll 6. Then win the lottery a few more times just for good measure. THAT'S about the chances of spontaneously combusting due to quantum mechanics.

All of these things are possible, and on a long enough time scale (a good deal longer than our universe has been around) they should even be expected. Take any random movement of atoms and think of a highly organized state they can be in, and youv'e got a good example of this abberant (but every once in a while expected) behavior.

Actually, I doubt the wall thing is possible. Although the space between atoms is vast, their electron fields still exert a repulsive force on one another, and even if the atoms were aligned -just so- to allow passge through, the electron coulds would still prevent it from happening.

Possible, but the chance is very slim.

Why this happens is because electrons around atoms are not in perfect orbits like you are told in highschool.

Instead, electrons orbit around atoms randomly, and only fall in certain places with certain probabilities.

There is nothing unusual about one of your atoms having an electron in another room.

So, there is nothing hard about imagining some of your electrons passing through the wall when you run into it.

However, remember, you're not just composed of a few atoms. Lol. Try an uncountable number of them. The possibility that all of your electrons at once could pass through the wall is absolutely impossible and will never happen realistically. It's just a possibility, but again, it's so impossibly impossible it won't actually happen.

No. The correlation between sneezing and spontaneously combusting can not be linked. by way of fact the definition of spontaneous is "occurring or bobbing up without obvious exterior reason" if one have been to combust as a results of sneezing, you will probably be laid low with the properly documented ailment "sternuincendia" or the flaming sneeze. So in case you have been to spontaneously combust and sneeze, it would be purely that: spontaneous without direct correlation to the sneezing.

Every 'know' case of Spontaneous Human Combustion involves high quantities a alcohol and either cigarettes or a fireplace. Draw your own conclusions.

There have been several cases where ashes were found, only bone scraps left, and a chair destroyed. The body was identfied, but these cases are assumed to be spontaneous combustion, no one has ever witnessed them. so, this is still a mystery.

Ah, that's just Quantum Physics physicists talking out of their as's. When you try to imagine what's going on at the tinier than tiny level...it makes you bonkers. You need to remember that some of these bozos actually think that it might be possible to go back in time. Yea and the universe is made up of strings...some we call D-branes......well Duh, brainiac! Somebody's been sipping LSD laced coffee...which probably helps when they are looking for that 'stopped' photon.....come on...pull the other leg!! Absolutely anything could be 'theoretically possible'...in any one of the 'theoretical parallel universes' out there..or is it "in here?"

Theoretically, you might be the only conciousness that there is, and everything is just a dream....that's right..a theoretical dream....so get off your as's and do the dishes...GO!!

Hi. Most of the documented cases of spontaneous combustion were preceded by heavy drinking. With a high enough alcohol content in your body the odds get better.

Spontaneous combustion used to my one of my worst childhood fears, thanks to a segment of the 70's TV show "That's Incredible." To this day, I'm conditioned to drink 2 quarts of water a day, as to saturate my body to avoid bursting into flames!

Cheers!
