Let me take this from the standpoint of a chemistry teacher.
Aluminum foil, even if formed from pure aluminum, would have to be kept in an air-free environment if it were to be kept pure aluminum, as aluminum will react with air (quite violently, if ground small enough), so the surface would VERY quickly react for form alumina (Al2O3), making it a compound.
Given that most aluminum foils are in fact not made from pure aluminum (to make it more pliable and less apt to tearing), it even further makes the answer to this question "Compound".

Aluminum is an element. Aluminum foil is usually about 99% aluminum. It is actually an alloy, but they just call it aluminum foil because it is so close.

Well, the stuff in your kitchen is not PURE aluminum, just as gold jewelry is not PURE gold. It probably is a mixture of aluminum and another metal like tin. Aluminum and gold are very soft, coming from clays, and making anything out of pure forms of either of them would not hold under any strain. But obviously it's got some aluminum in there. You could contact the company for the precise percentages.
