Is it normal when you have you blood pressure taken that you lose feeling in your arm and pins and needles too

this is what happened to me today and I would like to know if this is normal

Yes, the pressure from the blood pressure cuff also puts pressure on the nerves in your arm which can cause the sensations you describe.

Sounds like they put the cuff on a bit too tight. You get pins and needles when the blood supply is restored to a part of your body after being cut off or restricted. Perfoectly normal and nothing to worry about (just ask them not to put in on so tight next time!)

it is perfectly normall as the circulation is cut off by the blood pressure cuff, just the same as sitting on your foot , you get pin n needles. i will com back in a matter of seconds as the pressure is removed the circulation returns. dont panic.

this is normal, to take blood pressure thye inflate the cuff to block the blood supply for a few seconds, this is why you feel this way, if this goes on for long, one could suffer irrecoverable damage, but for blood pressure check time it does no harm at all, good luck

The cuff get`s very tight ,this happens to most people,who was taking your pressure ?you should have asked them to put your mind at rest

Only if the cuff is too tight.

This usually happens with the machines that pump up the cuff. The old fashioned way is better and more accurate.
