Yes.
Because when it not taught, kids teach themselves.
And we see what happens there...

Yes. I was taught Sex-Ed in school and by my parents. However, the way my parents taught me was to try and scare me out of having sex, which NEVER works because rebellious teens will do the opposite of what parents tell them, thinking that parents just want to ruin the fun. But in Sex-Ed, I was taught the facts. I learned that with sex, you have to be smart. Protect yourself always, you should only have sex with someone who loves and respects you, sex is an expressio! of love, not to be used to get ahead in life. I was also taught that it is okay to wait to have sex. Some people think that Abstinence should be the only thing taught to kids about sex. Wrong! That makes sex sound forbidden to kids and they will just rebel and do it anyway. What really should be taught is Celibacy. That teaches kids that sex is sacred and special, something to wait for only the right time and right person to do.

Yes I think sex-ed should be taught in schools. I came from a family where sex wasn't talked about. We read books and that was it. So as I got older I wish that I had sex-ed in school. Now these lil hot box boys and girls today have NO IDEA what they are doing and they see stuff on TV and think that is what they are suppose to be doing. We can't stop them but atleast we can educate them.

It depends on what grade schools want to teach it. My daughter was in the 6th grade when she brought home her first permission slip for sex ed in her health class. I thought that was too young, along with ALL of the other parents in the class, so it wasn't taught then, but I know the class will come up again sometime. I am still undecided if I want her to attend that class. I will decide that when the time comes again.

Definitely. Ignorance about sex leads to a multitude of public health and other public issues: Teen pregnancy, spread of disease, emotional and psychological distress. Parents simply do not have the training and knowledge to deal with this issue on their own in most cases.
I do not think that because you teach about sex in school that people will think it's OK. It is up to the teacher and the people designing the program to ensure that kids understand the importance of making sound sexual decisions. Kids should be made to understand the gravity of sex - it's consequences.

No! DEFINITELY NOT!!! All of the people answering "yes" to this question are either ignorant or blind to the fact that since "sex ed" first began to be taught in the schools, there has been a RISE in the incidents of fornication, STD'S, out of wedlock births, and abortions among "school kids"! The fact is that "Sex Education", as they call it, is nothing more than an ENCOURAGEMENT TO SIN! Sex belongs WITHIN MARRIAGE, period! And by the way, "marriage' is the HOLY UNION of ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN "till death do us part"! What "sex ed" does is promote the VERY WRONG view that "everybody's doing it!" So therefore, "GO FOR IT young man and young lady!" "Just make sure you don't engage in UNPROTECTED SEX!" "Use a condom" or "get on the pill", and by ALL means, if you DO get preggy girls, "See the nice school nurse and GO TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD!" After all, WE CARE! WE'LL HELP YOU! And we'll help RID YOU of the "unwanted pregnancy!" That way, everything is NICE AND SWEET, and everyone "lives happily ever after!" THAT is the mentality that "Sex Ed" promotes! It is SEXUAL "FREEDOM" WITHOUT SEXUAL RESPONSIBILITY! And definitely, NO CONSEQUENCES! Or so they would have school children believe! And it's all LIES! LIES! LIES! God calls fornication SIN! And there ARE very REAL consequences! "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23). Death of your dignity as A VIRGIN! Death of your body through Climidia and Herpes and AIDS. Death of relationships that you THOUGHT were "true love always!" Death of an innocent unborn child through ABORTION! And finally, death FOR EVER in Hell! I am so fed up with the LIES being promoted through the "Government Indoctrination Centers" (Public Schools!) where they teach kids things they have NO BUSINESS teaching! True "SEX EDUCATION" belongs in ONE place...THE HOME! It is FATHER'S AND MOTHER'S resonsibility! And we need to quit perpetuating the viscious evil cycle of "they're just gonna do it anyway", and replace that with, "Be saved by Jesus Christ, and ABSTAIN TILL MARRIAGE!" Hogwash! to all this liberal-socialist-evolutionary psychology BRAINWASHING! God gave PARENTS that responsibilty, NOT the schools! It's no wonder every succeeding generation just gets WORSE AND WORSE! When will we FINALLY wake up as a nation? How many MORE of our children must suffer under all of this UNBIBLICAL TEACHING that they are getting? Sex Education in the "Schools" is A FAILURE!

I think it should be taught in school along with the responsibilities associated with sex. The way I view it ...being educated in anything in life makes one better at living life. By better I mean better at making choices ....either having protected sex or no sex. Example: I had a cousin who was home schooled and completely sheltered from anything dealing with sex. She was not allowed to date until she was 18. Her first sexually experience happened when she was 19, in which she got pregnant. Her statement to me ,"I had no clue thats how you got pregnant, I just knew it felt good when he touched me."
So, trust me educate, educate educate

I think that parents should be teaching their kids not to have unprotected sex, and not to have sex at all until you're of legal age...It is illegal for minors to have sex, no matter where they are, it's just that people take it as so common that charges aren't ever pressed...
The schools wouldn't need to do it if parents taught their kids morals.

yes, no one (students in this case) can make a wise and informed decision without being informed.
to say a note to "if we teach it then we are endorsing it by default" I say bull. Because people are taught that the coil on the stove-range gets very hot, does that mean that people have to touch it to understand the concept?

I think it should be up to the parents of when they teach their child about sex. Bringing it into the schools makes children think its "ok" because they learned about it in school.
But, if the school MUST teach it, they should send slips home with the kids for their parents to consent to it or not. I don't think it should be taught in elementary or middle school. If a kid has a question about it, they should be able to ask their gym or health teacher if they're too afraid to ask their parents.

Yes, because from all evidence the parents are not doing it, so the kids are off in never-never land with no knowledge of the real world of sex. The result, unwanted pregnancies and abortions galore!!
Chow!!
