And in response to your concerns there are now suggestions that the age of criminal responsibility be raised to 14! Truly the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
By age 10 my children knew the difference between right and wrong. They do not roam the streets causing mayhem. They know that if they behaved badly at school I would not make up excuses for them. Yob parents lead to yob children.

Yeah right. At least it's only Yobs and not soldiers parading around shooting people while other people just stand and watch. One day the law will be too restricted to those Yobs, and then there will be curfews... and even people who have done NOTHING to upset the other people will suffer.

Discipline, respect, begin at home though Kirk_84. Not always, but more often than not "yobs" haven't learned those things, at home. Police certainly have NO chance, dealing with these things with one arm tied behind their back either. People get the government they deserve, if we all sit on our backsides moaning amongst ourselves they are quite happy with that. If we got off our behinds and made our voices heard, they MIGHT be stirred into action. So what do we do? .... nothing, except still sit faffing about on yahoo answers! :-)

Yes it has gone far to far. We have betrayed generations of children. There is no longer discipline in the homes, and certainly not in schools. When Teachers can get threatened with prosecution just for catching hold of a child's arm, and they can be falsely accused and treated as guilty even before any investigation has been made, you know you are in trouble. There have been fathers killed and women terrorised, whole neighbourhoods held to ransom, if someone stands up to them they are the ones arrested. I don't think there will be any difference until parents start facing heavy fines and imprisonment if their yobish kids do anything wrong. What are 11 and 12 year olds doing out late at night? I wish we could return to the old days of being taught right from wrong and respect for others.

the government and police created the yob culture. we are reaping the thatcher years and Tony's cronies have done little to improve the situation. the police lost all credibility and respect after their actions during the miners strikes

Most non-yobs agree.
We are really ruled by rich people, who think we're fit for nothing else. They like to see needless power struggling dumped on us, we spend more, and the yobs do covert favours for them at times.

Too right! Bring back parents' and teachers' ability to discipline children - kids get away with too much these days because they know there are no real consequences to their yobbish and disrespectful behaviour!! A good slapping once in a while will do wonders!!!!
