I think people try to have the "holiday spirit" and that makes them think that they are nicer. But, everyone is so stressed out and trying to get all their shopping done, etc that they end up being just about the same as normal.

People nicer during Christmas time? Ha ha - are you serious? It's like World War III! Everybody's nerve-wracked and irritated because they have to find the "perfect gift" for loved ones, and people that they are forced to buy for. lol. It's a lovely notion that people would be nicer at Christmas time, but it unfortunately isn't the reality!

I am happy when the season is approaching, it is exciting to get the decorations out, think of what I am going to buy my kids....BUT....by the time Christmas Eve gets here I just want to get drunk, moon the town folk and scream obsenities at my in-laws.
Pretty stressful time of year.
I would have to say they are NOT nicer.
