Not much point saying accept it, cause quite frankly that's the problem as well. Question - is it the way you die that you fear or the fact that you are going to die? The way you die may not be in your control - sorry.

One thing to find out is what to expect when you die. There is a magnificent piece of writing available called Death the Great Journey. It is a stand alone knowledge track available via the Clairvision school - this is a school of meditation. Doesn't matter if you're not interested in this, but the book is absolutely amazing and well worth getting. www.clairvision.org

We all put alot of thought into living but give no thought into our death.

Knowledge helps with fear. This may help you.

There are only two known and accepted certainties in this world and that is you will be born and you will die. The sooner you accept that at some point you will die the better. You could die at any time but there is absolutely no point worrying about it because mostly you do not have control over it so why waste energy worrying?
I do not worry about the weather as I cannot control or change it and the same for death.

You need to realise that we are all going to die, and that there's no point worrying about it. It's like a fear of turning 20; you're not going to be able to change it by worrying about it.
And besides, so long as you don't smoke, don't drink yourself into a coma and ensure that you look both ways before you cross the road, then the chances of you dying and greatly reduced. Basic things like this help to live a long life, and make sure you enjoy it whilst you can, and help a few others along the way.

Okay, enough of all this religious bollox!
I agree with you honey, I am absolutely petrified of dying... so bad that I get panic attacks.
I find that if I get panicky, it's good to walk away from where you are, take a walk, some deep breathes, have a cigarette (if you smoke) and think of anything else in the world!
Try to be thankful for the chance of living, I know it's hard sweetie!
Maybe Counselling or Hypnotherapy, it may seem a bit rash, but this is a REAL fear! Good Luck xxx

focus on life. No one knows the time of their death so every minute you waste worrying is that many less minutes you could be celebrating and having a good time. Or think of all the great people that have gone before you, surely there must be some plan here. Or don't think about it at all.

You just learn to live with the fact that death is inevitable and make the most of life. Personally I am more worried about the death of my loved ones than my own.

I saw a man on the video box once who said that he was worried to death about his death and what he decided to do was to devote a full week to just thinking about it full on giving the question all his attention - It cured him and he started to live without the fear.

For me it helps to break the fear down what part of dying is worrying; the possible pain? the transition to the unknown ?- Limbo or hell? Being judged? - Missing out on life? -Just not existing? - Hurting others ?or other

and then find ways to accommodate your needs.

fears are life sapping and need to be worked with

Like my father used to say; there are 3 things everyone faces in life - birth, taxes and death. Once a person is born - they do not live forever so why worry about?

By living in a way in which one really doesn`t mind dying (Arne Næss).

Exactly how one would live to be able to acheive this depends on the individual. But it basically means doing what you believe that you will wish you had done, when death finally comes.

Just by accepting that it's a fact of life. Everyone and everything must die for the cycle of life to continue. Thats just the way it is. There is no reason to fear it because its going to happen no matter what.
