search VOLCANIC ACTIVITY RECENT you might have a problem with the North America unless something is happening in Alaska or the Aleutian Islands

tried the search off Yahoo tool bar above - do not list the Hawaii event as North America it is not ! but St Helen's had some recent activity - wish you luck

St Helens, the Aleutians, and likely Yellowstone or hawaii.

St Helens and several active volcanoes in the Aleutians have rhyolytic composition and have had some significant venting activity.

Yellowstone is an active geothermal area, with fluctuations on ground swell

Hawaii generally is the tamest of volcanic, with Magmatic flow on the big island.

Check by googleing the USGS volcano /earth quake observatory

Your best bet will be Alaska, I have flown over there a few times and seen active lava from the air everytime. Don't know which ones they would be though.

Cheers
